The trunk was dented fairly significantly, but the lights and license plate were not damaged. The locking mechanism is unaffected and the trunk still closes fine. But should I file a claim? Also, get an estimate from a good repair shop , if the damage is high, turn in a claim and if your rates go up, shop around for another insurance carrier. Sometimes, your current carrier will lower your rates to keep you, they want their money back.
