Auto body repair & detailing: Body filler questions, old wives tales, body filler

Question
Hello and thnk you for the service. I am curious if it is possible to repair an auto body without using any filler at all. I know there are ways to replace panels, but is filler still involved? For example, a dent on a door jamb, or roofline, etc. Can they be repaire dwithout filler? Is it possible to request that a  vehicle be fixed without any body filler whatsoever? Thanks for any info.

Answer
If you are afraid of filler, don't be, most shops will guarantee their work for as long as you own the car. With todays metals, it is near impossible to not use some kind of filler from time to time. It is even hard to use lead on this new thin metal.
If the shop has a good reputation and warranty, don't worry about it, you should be fine. All the old tales about bondo cracking or falling out are just old wives tales, you are in the 21st century now and the materials we use today are excellent.
