Auto body repair & detailing: Polo Wing Mirror, electric mirror, mirror assembly

Hi,
I have a 2006 Polo S (64bhp), right-hand drive, bought in London.

My driver side wing mirror is broken and I have a replacement, but I just want to how to remove it??  It's just the actual mirror that's broken, not the whole thing.  My friend told me I can just "pop it out with a screwdriver...".  Can I??  I don't want to damage anything further...

I apologize for the late response, I’m on a two-week vacation and still  trying to answer all the questions.
I don't know what a Polo is or who makes but most electric mirror just snap together. Move the glass all the way to one side, gently pull out on the inside assembly until it pops off. If it doesn't work that way, you still have the whole new mirror assembly. I wouldn't use a screwdriver,
