Auto body repair & detailing: Hole patch, rust paint, rust hole

Question
Hello,  I see by the ratings that you have a lot of great help to offfer. So this is my problem I have a 85 El Camino that has a rust hole about 3-4 long by 2-3 wide in the right rear quater panel behind the rear wheel. Living here in Kansas with the winters and a daily drvier the salt plays hell on lower body work. There seems according to my manuel no way to remove just this panel to work from the inside out. Also there is some marker light and taillight wireing in there. My question is how would I patch this from the outside. MY knowledge is limited to being able to read the instructions.  Any help would be great Thank you and have a nice day

Answer
If you are patching the hole to pass inspection in you state, clean up the area to be patched, grind away any rust, paint, ect. Fiber glass it. You can do it with cloth or mat just to fill the hole. You can also buy a small can of a material call Marglass or Duraglass or Tiger Hair. You would need to spead this stuff on a piece of paper or rag to hold it in place.
If you restoring the car or want it to last for while longer, weld a patch in it. You may be able to buy a patch panel on the internet.  go to http://www.rustrepair.com/app2/onlinecat.htm?r=go&p=sm-
