Auto body repair & detailing: Jaguar xjr headlamp assembly, jaguar xjr, headlamp assembly

Question
QUESTION: How do I remove the driver's headlamp assembly...the entire assembly?

ANSWER:  What year so as I am not searching software all day year by year?
It looks like you have nuts to remove at the core support area behind the headlight, plus the front bezel. The corner light will probably need to come out. If you have parts on the backside in the way, (battery, air box, electronics, ect.), rove them first.

QUESTION: It's a 2004.  Seems like if I can remove the bumper shell, I can get to the last screw.

Answer
I have never had a late model Jaguar front end apart so this will some educated guessing.
It looks as if the cover has to come off, from what I can see in the blow up. The headlight only calls for .3 hours to change, but the cover calls for 1.6. It should be fairly simple to take off once you find all the screws and retainers. Remove all splash shields connected to the cover on the bottom, you should be able to just loosen the front half in the wheel wells. If the splash shields in the wheel well do not flex back far enough to reach the retainers to the fender, you may have to pull them all the way out. Once you get  the front half of the shields loose and the rest of the cover loose, pull straight forward on the cover, it may have slides on the sides.
We do not have a Jag dealer in our area or I would call a service or body tech for more info.
Good luck
