Auto body repair & detailing: Car door hinges cracking, etc, metal space frame, plastic bodywork

Question
Driver's side CAR DOOR hinges crack very loudly whenever opening or closing door wide - wind caught the door & it swung sharply out of my hand, just after collecting the 'new' to me VIRGO MICROCAR from garage in Cornwall, I live in Gloucestershire! This car has 'plastic' bodywork - is it repairable by undoing the door & getting inside it, etc? Meanwhile, am getting by opening & closing door to a minimum....

Answer
Caroline, you teed to take your car to a body repair garage. The wind catching the door has caused damage to the metal structures that the door frame is made of. Even if it has plastic outer panels, a car still has a metal "space" frame. It should be repairable, it will require bending the damaged body/hinges back into proper position. This will require special tools and skills, and is not really a home repair job. Bill
