Auto body repair & detailing: car painting, enamel paint, car painting

Question
I am doing a repaint of my Honda. I am using enamel paint with a suction feed
gun. The problem I am having is I'm getting a tiger stripe effect on the roof and
hood. The vertical surfaces are ok. Can you tell me what is causing this and how
to correct?

Answer
You need to increase the distance of the gun between the car and gun, and mist coat the horizontal panels immediately after you finish putting on a coat. This will even out the metallic. You can also try cross coating the panels once during the refinishing process. Good luck! Bill
