Auto body repair & detailing: compound, polymer coating, swirl marks

Question
i wanted to get a compound put on my car professionally and i was wondering how much it would cost and how long does it last?thank you for your time

Answer
Rubbing compound smoothes and cleans the paint to make shinier. A polish is used after that to remove any swirl marks from the compound. A good wax or polymer coating after that helps preserve and protect the finish. Depending on the shape of your paint, it should anywhere from a hundred bucks on up. If your car is old and has been in the sun a lot then it probably needs a paint job.
