Auto body repair & detailing: Siphon Fed Guns, spray caps, hvlp guns

Question
What is the trick to siphon fed guns. Im real good with a gravity HVLP gun but i just cant seem to get why i get no runs with the gravity gun but with the siphon fed, most of it is a run.

Hello! Jerry, take it as a sign from God- just use gravity guns. Gravity feed HVLP guns are pretty much the industry standard anyway. Part of being a good painter is finding a gun that you feel good with, and sticking with it. Stubbornly trying to master a gun that you don't have a feel for is just a waste of time and materials. I can't be there to watch you paint, you didn't tell me what sorts of paints you are spraying, and you didn't tell me what the guns you are spraying are set up like. They have different spray caps and sizes of fluid needles, some siphon feed guns have a pressure pot, some guns just put out inherently more material than others. If you have a gun you like- stick with it. Happy painting! Bill
