Auto body repair & detailing: Bowed Hood, nissan maxima, radiator support

This morning I slid into the back of an SUV. I have a 98 Nissan Maxima and my hood is now bowed up about 1 1/2 inches on the left side. I wasn't going very fast, so there wasn't a lot of damage. Is it possible to fix this on my own?

If you mean just flatten it out, possibly. Put a wood block under the front edge of the hood, on top of the radiator support. Carefully push down on the edge of the lid, don't push on the flat part of the hood. It will leave palm dents. You might be surprised how much it will flatten out with a little patience. Bill
