Auto body repair & detailing: truck bed repair, upper portions, sheet metal

Question
If you have a truck bed & floor boards rusting would sheet metal be the  best way to go with repairing both?

Answer
Sheet metal is absolutely the way to go. Nothing else has the strength, or the longevety, of a properly patched panel. Panels can be attached with glue, welded, or both. I like to glue the lower parts of a patch, where water is likely to penetrate it. Then I like to weld the upper portions so that it has ultimate strength. Either or is fine, however. I would seriously consider just welding the bed floor if you plan to use the bed to haul anything. Glue will be fine for a show truck. Bill
