Auto body repair & detailing: bumper cover reattachment, pep boys, automotive paint

my bumper cover( rear) is off. I have the bracket that attaches to the inside of the bumper cover. i need to
reattach it with an adhesive (putty or epoxy) ?
that bracket then slides into the bracket outside the car.
what adhesive putty can i use the part is rubber and cover metal???? please advise

Marguerite, it sounds like you have a serious problem, and probably need a new bumper cover. Covers tend to have several mounting points, and it sounds as though all of yours are broken, making the cover virtually garbage. You can try attaching the broken off mounts with SEM bumper repair adhesive, but I really doubt you will meet with much success. It's an epoxy like material formulated for repairing bumper covers, and it's available anywhere that sells professional grade automotive paint. Try Nap, Big A, Car Quest. It's doubtful that discount parts stores like Auto Zone or Pep Boys will carry any repair material worth putting on the car. Bill
