Auto body repair & detailing: 1996 Chrysler Sebring, chrysler sebring, salvage yard

I own a 1996 chrysler sebring lxi. just the other day, i messed up the bottom portion of my front bumper to the point where it cracked it in numerous places. its no broken apart but you might as well say it it by the way it looks. i was wondering if there was any way to fix it myself. i didnt know if they made like glue or like filler to put it together then sand it down and paint it. a new front peice for my car it almost 400 dollars so i rewally dont want to buy a new one. thanks for your help, Josh.

Sorry, Josh, this sort of repair is the realm of the professional body technician. Plastic bumper repair is the most difficult thing to master as far as exterior panel repairs, and it must be done in a very specific manner. Even if I teach you what to do, you are likely to have premature failure of the part. I suggest finding a used bumper cover, or locate an aftermarket replacement. They are usually half the cost of a new factory panel, and they usually look okay. You get what you pay for. You might try contacting a body shop about getting an aftermarket bumper for you, and painting it. You also might try finding one on Ebay. There are some companies that have parts for sale, and for a reasonable price, will paint it for you then ship it to your home. You might get lucky and find a salvage yard with one the same color, but it's doubtful, and salvage parts usually have some damage- ranging from minor to major scratches. It's up to you what you are willing to accept. bill
