Auto body repair & detailing: paint restoration, ford mondeo 1997, ford c4

Question
I have a Ford Mondeo 1997 Mk 11 colour Ford C4.   On repairing scratches, I used scratch remover which took off outer paintwork and it obviously removed more paint than was necessary on a small area in the vicinity of the door handle which has left a small blemish with the primer showing through.  How do I cover this blemish to restore to the original paintwork colour. Sincerely John Griffiths

Answer
Hello John! You burned through the color. You would have been better off just carefully touching up the scratch with a brush. It's going to be difficult, at best, to try to touch up this spot without making an even bigger mess. Take it to a body shop, and see if they think they can spot in the damage. If not, you are looking at painting and blending out the door. I wish I had better news, aerosol can paint like Dupli-Color always looks half assed, especially in the hands of an amateur. Good luck to you! Bill
