Auto body repair & detailing: F250 doors, bump in the road, f250 superduty

Question
I have a 99' F250 superduty, supercrew 4X4 truck that ever since I bought it, if I hit a bump in the road it sounds like my passengers door is going to fall off. I read one of your other answers about the hinges being worn out. Do you think that is the probable fix here, or do I need to do something with the strike pin? Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Answer
Casey, A lot of things can cause the condition that you've described. You could have something loose inside the door making noise or your door could be loose. Open the door and lift up on the end of it and see if there's a lot of play in the hinges. If so, then hinges would definitely be a good place to start. If the hinges seem good you may want to take the interior trim panel off and see if you've got something loose inside the door. Sometimes bolts can come loose on the widow regulator or window guides or latch or other hardware and cause something to shake around inside the door. I hope this helps. Thanks
