Auto body repair & detailing: Paint problem, tiny dimples, paint problem

QUESTION: Ernie
I paid a friend to repaint an old beater car of mine.Looks OK from a distance,but up close it looks textured with tiny dimples-he must of used the wrong sprayer setting.
It tends to collect dust.
Is there anything I can do to fix this,apart from sanding and repainting?
What if I electic buffed it with some kind of compound?
I havent waxed it yet by the way.

ANSWER: Depending on the amount of material on the car you may be able to wet sand and buff it out.Try doing a small area with 1200 grit wet and buff it out.It will be time consuming but well worth the effort.

Wet sanding is done by using special sand paper,it is usually greyish in color, and water,use a sponge to keep the area wet while sanding small areas at a time, use a wet sanding squeegee to dry the area to make sure there is no peel left,you can then move to another area repeating the process.You will then have to buff the sanded areas with a buffer and compound.
