Auto body repair & detailing: auto body rust, body rust, chipped paint

Question
Hi!  I have a '78 Jaguar with some body rust on the bottom of doors and beneath windows (no holes)...how should I adress this?  Also, there are some chips in the paint and a few dings.  Should I work out the dings, then take care of the rust (in whichever manner you suggest) chip around the broken paint, then try to match the old paint color with new paint?  Sorry if that sounds stupid, this is really not my area of expertise.  Thank you!

Answer
If there are no holes--no way moister can come through the other side, then just bondo...otherwise fill with fiberglass.

Fill dents with bondo.

Chipped paint...you have a lacquer finish...easy to match, paint, wet sand, and polish, but polish the entire car first with a buffer machine using a sponge attachment with 3m's "finesse" first, or you'll be locking grime under the areas you are touching up...making it impossible to match the new paint with the old paint.
