Auto body repair & detailing: Acid Rain, terry cloth towel, auto parts stores

I have an 04 black F150. There are spots all over it. Is there a way to detail them out? I have tried waxing..the works. What can you do to prevent this from happening in the first place.

Without using professional detailing equipment (Electric polisher buffer, several types of waxes, etc) here's what I'd suggest.  Get some overspray clay and some Quick detailer/lube spray.  Wash the car thoroughly and dry it.  Then mist a section that has spots (I assume you're talking about hard water type spots, right) and after kneading the clay and stretching it and getting it soft, rub it firmly back and forth over the area.  Get a clean, terry cloth towel and dry the area with a light buffing action.  The spots should be gone.  Do a section at a time, and when you're done, hand wax it with a good wax or polish like Meguiar's Deep Crystal system Polish, and get a good microfiber cloth to remove wax or polish.  Work on the finish in the shade.
Meguiar's G1016 Smooth Surface™ Clay Kit would be a good bet for clay and lube spray.
I mention Meguiar's a lot because it's available in most auto parts stores, not because it's the only solution.  Get a recommendation from an employee and if he's very assured in his answer, go for it.   Don't go through car washes. Take care and hope that helps.
