Auto body repair & detailing: rocker panel molding clips, retaining clips, plastic disc

Question
I have a 84 fleetwood, and the stainless behind the front fender bottom, is separated from the body. The two quarter size plastic disc retainers broke. Is there an easier way of reconnecting the molding to the body short of screwing it on?

Answer
Hello Marty,
We appologize for the delay in answering your question.
You can get those retaining clips at a General motors parts dealer.  They are inexpensive.
When you get these clips, you can re-attach the clips with either a long rivit or a small screw.  Which ever you decide to use, dip it in grease before installing.  You may have to re-drill the holes if the others are too large from wear.  Make sure they are even horizontally.
Thank you,
