Auto body repair & detailing: Obtaining a quote, adhesion promoter, paint suppliers

Question
I have a 95 Ford Taurus SHO that has a "dinged up" front spoiler -- hate those high curbs. I'm going to obtain a few estimates this week -- is there anything I should be looking for besides price? Thanks in advance!

Answer
Hello Steve,
Yes,  make sure, if the shop is replacing the part, the part is a factory part or a certified aftermarket part.  Be sure to ask if they apply a plastic primer/adhesion promoter to the part, this application (plastic primer) helps the base and clear stick to the bumper and if applied correctly will keep part from peeling.  This is an important step when refinishing a plastic part.  And ask if the shop uses quality base and clear. For example, We use Sikkens and ICI here, they are the two top paint suppliers in the world.
Thank you,
Mike and Lisa
