Auto body repair & detailing: water leak, water leaks, seal water

Question
hi dave,
wondered if you've ever ran into this, I have a 1986 firebird & when it rains I get a puddle of water standing in the front passenger side floor board.  I've checked and it doesnt appear to drip down from under the dash, the car has T-tops but they do not seem to leak, it appears to be comming from under the carpeting its self. the floor board is not rusted as it holds the water & doesnt let it dry out. I've tried siliconing the bottom of the windsheild & cleaned out the air intake screen that lies just below the windsheild.
I've looked under the car to try & see where water that gets into the air intake is supose to drain out to see if some drain is clogged but there doesnt seem to be any readily visable draining point. any ideas you might have would be appreciaed
thanks CcRider

Answer
  hi ccrider,
there are many places that water can get in. a seam under the dash, around the glass, a door seal water leaks can be a real pain some times. about all you can do is have some one get inside and then run water around the area and just keep looking untill you fine the leak. thanks for writing.
