Auto Glass: window tinting, Window Tinting

Question
You may know about this. Seems most or all new cars I look up come with "light" tinted windows. does that mean it already has a film of tint on it and if I want a darker tint, yet another layer of film would have to go over the first one?? Thanks!

Hi Lee,

Most cars that come with Factory Tinted Glass have glass that has a tint put in the glass when it was made at the manufacturer and not a Film that was applied to it after the car was built.
So if you want to make a Factory tinted cars windows darker only one application of after market tint would need to be applied. I have even seen cars with Factory tint have two layers of after market tint applied to make the glass even darker.

Most States prohibit tint that obstructs vision all the way through the passenger compartment for safety reasons. Check with your state laws to get the answers on allowable Tint darkness.

         Hope This Helps! Derek =D
