Auto Glass: 2011 Pathfinder quarter glass, Pathfinder quarter glass

Question
I have the quarter glass coming from the dealer. What steps do I need to take to install it? Does it require removing the door panel or glass and divider? Or is there a simple way to remove the divider to get the quarter panel in?

Thanks
Mark

Answer
Hi Mark,

I looked up a 2011 Pathfinder quarter glass and there is no divider as far as I can see from any of the photos I have seen ,  SO  I think we are talking rear vent glass here. If not please let me know.

Since I myself have not done one of these vents yet!

Here are basic directions for a Common rear vent install. Your truck may be slightly different in a couple of minor ways but not far from the steps outlined  below:

Roll Door Glass Down. Remove all screws fasteners holding door panel on and remove it.

Remove 2 10mm bolts that hold the vertical vent track that is between vent glass and the door glass. Remove 2 inches of the outside door seal rubber just above this vertical metal vent track to reveal the Phillip screw holding it up. Move the vent track as far away from the vent area as possible.

Now here is where it gets a little tricky,  If you have the room to replace the vent glass WITH THE RUBBER ON IT? Then spray the whole vent and rubber with foamy glass cleaner and Install it and then reverse the process above to complete.

If you DO NOT HAVE ROOM, then you must remove the door glass by removing the two bolts holding it on the window regulator. Once you have the glass out you will have plenty of room to put the vent in!

Remember the truck might have Rear auto up or down switch and might roll the glass entirely up or down once you hit the window button only once!  So WATCH your fingers if it does!!

Remember to clean ALL GLASS out of vent Rubber if only replacing the glass and keeping your rubber. Any glass in this rubber could cause it to blow up!

         Hope This Helps! Derek =D
