Auto Glass: 2004 Sebring rear passenger window, panel fasteners, door latch

Question
Hi Ben, I have a 2004 Sebring and the rear passenger window does not go up or down using the switch. I can hear the motor working in both directions and was able to get the window to close, and I have the proper tools to get the door panel removed, but I was wondering what part you think I might need in order to repair the problem. It seems like the window has jumped off the tracks, or a cable is broken. Are there any sites on the web where I could see a diagram of the door? Thanks in advance for your help!

Answer
Hello Rob,

From the symptoms you describe it sounds like the cable regulator has failed.  That is certainly the most common failure I have seen.  I don't know of any alternative to the OEM Chrysler part at this time so you are probably stuck getting a replacement from them.

I am not aware of any web sites with door panel diagrams.  However, this is a fairly simple door panel to remove.  The screws are obvious and there are plastic panel fasteners around the perimeter of the panel.  Once the panel is loose you do need to remove the rod from the door latch where it attaches to the interior door handle and then remove the electrical connector from the bottom of the window switch before you can completely remove the panel.

Feel free to send a follow up question if there is anything else you are wondering about.
