Auto Glass: 2002 Toyota Highlander Door Panel, toyota highlander, nail clip

Just trying to get the door panel off a 2002 Highlander.  Got the screw from behind door latch removed, and the front nail clip.  Pulled panel out from clips, but can't pull it up or out and don't want to break it.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanking you in advance.  Michael

Hi Michael,

This is not a vehicle I work on that often, so I don't have a completely clear picture of the panel in my mind.  However, I think there should be a screw underneath the rubber liner in the "door pull" (indentation in the arm rest where your hand goes when you close the door).  Also, you may need to remove the door handle if you haven't already done that.  The handle slides backward or forward and then out of the opening.  You will probably find a small plastic retainer clip holding the door latch rods to the handle.

If that doesn't do it for you I suggest you gently pull the panel away from the door and look underneath the panel to see where/what is keeping the panel from being removed.  This procedure can often lead to a hidden or overlooked fastener of some type.
