Auto Glass: Power window fuse, amp circuit breaker, door hinges

Question
I have a 1999 ford mustang mustang and both of the power windows have stopped working. I'm suspecting the fuse is the problem but as I received it second hand, I don't have an owners manual. Could you tell me which fuse is the problem, and what voltage to replace it with?

Answer
Hello Matt,

I don't think your problem is a fuse.  The wiring diagram I referred to indicates that the power window circuit is controlled by a 20 amp circuit breaker not a fuse.  Circuit breakers very rarely fail so I am thinking that you may have lost power to your master window switch.  Check the blue wire coming into the master window switch for 12V.  If you have no power, you probably have a broken wire in the "boot" between the driver door (near the door hinges) and the body of the car.

Feel free to send a follow up question if this information doesn't lead you to the problem.
