Auto Glass: Rear glass sizes, GLASS SIZES

QUESTION: Could you please give me the rear glass sizes for 85 Toyota Celica Supra, 90 Dodge Daytona Laser, and a 85 Chev Cavalier Sunbird. The old Craigar louvers are nice and I would love to see if any of these glass sizes would cross over to my New Beetle.

ANSWER: Hi Walt,

         I would have to understand the application in more detail before I go dig through old dusty nags books.

         Maybe if I knew more about the project I could offer other Models to use but I just don't understand what your looking to find out.


NO other back glass will fit into a Beetle pinchweld and make a seal without some form of modification to the car.

QUESTION: Sorry, I should have explained my self a bit better. There is an outfit selling new old stock Cragar rear glass aluminum louver sets for those cars I listed. Im looking to find the basic glass dimentions so it would give me an idea of what the louvers set size is for those cars. The rear glass on my New Beetle is 41" across the top and 43.5" across the bottom and about 31" tall. The alloy louvers can be trimmed shorter to make the taper if need be. The 68 Mustang fast back would be perfect to refit since its 43.5 square and about the right hight but only new injection molded ones are available making it tuff to narrow the top wideth to 41". If arching is needed, a head gun can usualy help put a bend into the plastic end frames of the Cragars. I once had the Cragar louvers on a 79 Camaro decades ago and they were the best and in this case easy to narrow their dimentions to fit the 02 VW new beetle. Sorry if this is a trouble to dig up, but if one of those sizes back glass is Beetle size or larger, You will have helped to put a VERY different looking Yellow Beetle on the road!
