I installed a new regulator and motor but the window stops ~ 1/4" from the top. It goes down all the way but it makes a clunking noise before it stops. Are there stop adjustments for top and bottom?

Hi Jack,

There are no stops or adjustments on this window regulator.  

I am having a hard time thinking of what could be causing the problem.  Maybe the following suggestion will help you discover what is responsible.

Remove the rivets or bolts that you used to fasten the glass to the new regulator.  Lower the regulator to the bottom of the door.  Now, manually slide the glass up and down to be sure there is no interference in the front and back glass channels.  If the glass moves all the way up and down with no problem, then I think you need to look for something in the regulator.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.  I have replaced dozens and dozens of these regulators during the past ten years and have never seen this issue before.
