Auto Glass: power window on 93 t bird, auto glass shop, automatic car wash

Question
Hi Ben, I was teasing my kids while in the automatic car wash and I opened the passenger side window while it was washing to scare my boys.  Well he ended up freaking out and pushed the window up with his hands and now I think it's disconnected from something because it does not work without pulling or pushing it up and down by hand...any advise?

Answer
Hi Rick,

There are two plastic brackets glued to the bottom of the door glass.  These brackets are used to connect the glass to the window mechanism ("regulator").  The brackets probably got pulled off the glass during the car wash adventure.

This is not an uncommon problem on this vintage of T-Bird.  A good auto glass shop should be able to supply and install new glass brackets for no more than a one hour labor charge.

Feel free to send a follow up question if you need additional information.
