Auto Glass: 1996 Buick Regal power window clips, buick regal, window glass

QUESTION: I've looked everywhere and I can not find a part number for the clips that
hold the driver front window to the vertical track. I think the part number is
a dorman 38480. Can you confirm or supply me with a different number?

how big?  what color?  installed on the glass or ?

QUESTION: There is not one installed on the window, it's has broken off, didn't get to
see what it looked like but the track has a metal guide on the inside to
keep the window snug against the track. The forward clip just slides on an
open "c" channel.

Hello Trey,

I believe the guides for this window glass were never available as separate parts even from GM.  I think that replacing the glass was the only solution to a loose, broken or worn out guide.  

Even if I am incorrect about that, I doubt that you will be able to find the correct guide from anyone other than GM.  However, it would not surprise me if the guides for this window had already been "obsoleted" by GM.  You may want to consider installing a salvaged door glass.
