Auto Glass: window repair, Malibu Rear Vent

I would like to know how to replace the rear quarter glass in a 1998 Malibu.

Hi Jim,

           This Rear Vent glass is Encapsulated with the vent frame, glass, and moldings for the top of the door glass all in one part.

Once you have the part in your hand you will know what I mean.

                First take off door panel to find the bolt that holds the bottom of the vent frame in and remove it.  Find the Phillips screw that holds the very top of vent frame and remove that.



Roll door glass all the way down to allow the vent frame room to be lifted out, pull down all the mouldings from top of door glass frame and wiggle the broken vent/frame out.


Repeat entire process in reverse to install!
