Auto Glass: 2003 Ford Mustand rear power window, ford mustand, vehicle windows

Question
the adhesive on the rear quarter power window has failed andthe window become unattached to the regulator arm/track, I have gotten the window out of the body, it is not broken, what is the best way to reattach the window, I understand urethane sealant/adhesive works, are there any hints or tricks to ensure a tight fit when the window is in the up position?  thanks in advance

Answer
Hello Bud,

Sorry for the long delay getting back to you.  A storm knocked out our cable/internet system for most of the last night and today.

I have not worked on the rear window of this vintage of Mustang convertible so I can't give you any specific instructions on how to make the repair.  In general, I would be surprised if you could glue the glass back on the regulator with the regulator still in the car.

I normally advise people not to attempt to repair a convertible rear window of any kind.  They can be very frustrating even for someone who regularly works on vehicle windows.  So I would suggest that you leave the job to a professional unless you have a significant amount of "hands on" experience, a lot of time to work on the repair and can drive another vehicle while you figure out what it takes to repair the Mustang.

I wish I could be more helpful.
