Auto Glass: removing a rear window, Back Glass

Question
My boyfriend accidentally shattered the rear windshield of my 2000 pontiac grand am. Between the both of us there are 4 little girls so money is extremely tight. I had to buy some plexi glass (I don't know if that's the correct spelling) as a temporary fix, but I really need to get it fixed. I've called around to some junk yards and found one window for $75 and they will remove it from the car it's on, but at another junk yard I found one for $37 but I would have to take it off myself. I'm really leaning towards the $37 one because I'm still going to have to pay at least $90 to get it installed, but I have no idea how to remove it. HELP PLEASE!! :)

Answer
Hi Liz,

Depending on your City /State and Your Model 2dr/4dr, this window can be installed by a shop NEW for as little as 179.00  I understand about the Finances thing but you DO NOT want to do this back glass job yourself. The final cost of Used could exceed the cost of New in the end. If you do the Math  75.00 used Glass 90.00 to install it ( you will not pull the 37.00 glass successfully ). = 165.00. Now what if the heat does not work? or if it breaks in transport or the glass installer breaks it?  No warrantee is given by the Junk yard or the installer, add another 75.00. you see what I am getting at?!!  You could pay more to do it used in the end!  In this case I would go NEW!!!!!!!!!

                                                Hope This Helps! Derek :)
