Auto Glass: Repair my windshield, auto glass repair, professional repair

My windshield was hit by a stone and a star-shaped crack resulted. One of the arms of the star is now stretching adross the windshield. I understand this can be repaired. Can you tell me where I can get the equipment and material to do so and the procedure for repairing it?

If the break will fit under a dollar bill, then it is probably repairable.  You can get repair kits at your local auto parts store.  However, I would not recommend one of these kits for your situation.  Your windshield is cracked and cracks can be very difficult to repair.  These kits are intended for small nicks or dings.  Professional repair kits can cost you several hundred dollars.  So I would recommend that you check with some local auto glass repair companies.  You can get a professional repair for probably less than you think.
