Automotive Plastics: repairing/replacing plastic studs, stud, boss

Question
What is the correct adhesive to re-connect a broken plastic stud on a 1984 corvette upper inside door panel trim. The stud is intact and has not been "glued" before. Thank you....

Answer
Hi Randy, I never make use of any adhesives nor glues to repair or replace a broken stud. by experience I know that the problems associated with plastic component failures are related to cohesion rather than to adhesion. Therefore, I prefer to weld the severed parts with a heating device. If your problem is a broken stud (a boss which is used to hold a fastening screw)That in turn holds another component, I would try to weld and reinforce a new complete stud in a way that I can indicate in a step by step explanation but I would need a pic. taken at close range.

I will appreciate If you attach this image so we can get the best solution in your case.
Look forward to receiving a follow -up with the indicated above.
Thanks in advance,
