Auto Parts: liftgate 1987 toyota, toyota part, liftgate

I am looking for a liftgate for a 1987 toyota longbed
pickup, made in japan. Part #6570089140.
It is unique as it has a lip aroung the bed and gate.

Hi Sid,

Parts for older cars are hard to come by,  I would recommend you start with local parts and salvage yards.  They sometimes have parts that you would never think you can find.

If there is no luck at the parts yard, my next suggestion would be to start calling around to auto parts stores sometimes even if they do not carry the part they may know of someone in your area that specializes in older vehicle parts.

If still no luck i would contact a vehicle restoration company in your area as they usually have access to those parts or know where to find them.

If that doesn't work, you can try calling Toyota directly, i don't know if that will help much because those parts have been discontinued for some time, but its worth a shot.

If still no luck, try contacting a automotive customizing company, as they can usually get you the right part, and sometimes modify it to give it the retro vintage and older school look you are looking for, body shops could work also.
