    If your brake lights won't go off then you almost certainly have a bad brake light switch.  It's mounted above the brake pedal under the dash.  Unplug it and see if the problem goes away.  If it doesn't, then there is a short in the wiring somewhere and you'll have to track it down.  On an older truck, where the brakes and the turn signals use the same bulb, a fault in the turn signal switch could also cause the problem.  This is much less likely, though.  Brake light switches aren't sealed or anything so they can get pretty gunked up inside.  Usually they fail in the off position, but not always.  GM and Chrysler use a different switch than Ford does.  The Ford switches go bad all the time in the on position.
