Auto Parts: 2002 S40 1.9L Turbo, vacuum hose, deck of cards

Question
After getting back from a football game, my car wouldn't start after letting it sit for about 20 minutes. I tried to start the car but it made a whining noise.  We checked the timing belt to make sure that wasn't the problem and it was not the problem. Had my spark plugs changed about 6 months ago along with the air filter.  My service engine light was on after I put gas at a shell.  Not sure what is going on with my car.  After a day of sitting and trying to start the car the next day, that's when we knew we had to press the accelerator in order for the car to start but it wouldn't stay idled.  Had it diagnosed with a reader that spit out a code of PO107 which read intake manifold low input barometric sensor.  Please help with problem

Answer
Sounds like the MAP sensor, which is generally referred to as a Baro sensor on boosted cars, has failed.  It has a hose that connects it to the manifold and that may have come loose.  I don't know where they put the sensor, Volvo has a really capricious sense of humor when it comes the location of this item.  It should be a little square electric box, slightly smaller than a deck of cards, with an electrical connection and a vacuum hose attached to it.  Try tapping on it, sometimes this will temporarily relieve the fault.  If tapping works, buy a new one immediately because you can be certain it will fail again very quickly.
