Question
QUESTION: I need to change my propeller shaft flex disk, is that something that i can do myself, or do i need to take in? how hard would it be if i mdid it myself? are there manuals online that would be able to show me how for free?

ANSWER:      Yes, you could do it yourself.  However, you're going to need to get the car up on a lift so that you can access everything.  It's one of those things that looks simple and is, but would still be better off done by a pro with the right equipment.  If you've never had a car fall off the jack onto you, you haven't lived.

QUESTION: are there manuals online that would be able to show me how for free?

Answer
Not that I know of.  BMW may have some sort of program to sell repair manuals on CD-ROM (nobody prints anything on paper anymore).  Sometimes you can find used or pirated manuals on ebay, I bought one for my Jag.  I had to dick around with the files to find the right portion for the job I had in mind, but I only paid $5 for it.  This job, going by what I've seen, is mostly a matter of looking at it and doing it.  Which is one reason why doing it in the dark under the car can be a bit chancy.
