Auto Parts: Check Engine Code, oxygen sensor, dodge durango

I have a 1998 Dodge Durango.  I got a check Engine Code of P1763 which I looked up at it says "Governor pressure sensor voltage too high".  Is this something I can fix myself or should I take it to a mechanic and also would it be a huge expense if I did that.  I would like to fix it myself with directions on where to find it and how to replace it.

    This is a transmission problem, and you're right, it takes a pretty expensive mechanic to work on it.  If you know someone at a transmission shop, that would be a help, of course.  I have heard of this symptom resulting from shorts in the wiring harness.  This function/circuit shares a microprocessor with some other functions, and a short in one will bleed through and cause the voltage reading for the governor pressure sensor to appear to be too high.  Try disconnecting the downstream oxygen sensor at the PCM and see if the problem goes away.  If it does, then there is a short in the harness somewhere.  If it doesn't, then you need to turn it over to a pro.
