Auto Parts: Ignition Key Programing, mitsubishi eclipse, car lots

Question
Can I program an ignition key for a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse myself? The 1 key it came with broke but is still usable. Dealer price is ridiculous!  Thanks!

    I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that this is one of those that you can do yourself.  You don't have to go to the dealer, though.  There are a number of locksmiths out there now that specialized in cutting and reprogramming these types of keys.  If you don't see one in the yellow pages (and you're looking for an automotive specialist, if possible), then stop at one of your local independent used car lots.  They will know where to go or who to call, they run into these problems all of the time.  Good luck.
