Auto Parts: Tail light fixture removal, yukon xl, light assembly

Question
Hi - this is a simple one. I need to replace the tail light in my '99 Chev Suburban & not sure how to access the bulb. Only real access looks like the fixture has to be removed. Is this correct? Is there a method so I don't damage the fixture or paint around it & not cause difficulty in securely replacing it when I'm done?

Answer
I own an '05 Yukon XL and I don't think it's much different than your '99.  There are no fasteners on the outside; you have to get to the fasteners from the inside of the truck, behind the plastic panel in order to get the light assembly out to access the bulbs for replacement.
