Question
car is very slow from start in drive, is it the speed sensor? Where is it located on the transmision? [ 4 speed automatic ]Thank you

Answer
I gather from this that you think that the transmission is not shifting down into first gear.  Have you tried shifting it into first manually?  If that doesn't work, then the fault is in the transmission.  If it does work, then the fault would be in the computer that controls the transmission.  This was right around the time that the U.S. Gov. forced the manufacturers all to switch to using the same kind of interface and software.  Actually the first official year was '94, but I think that Toyota went ahead and changed early on these models, which were new in '93.  Either way, you're going to have to find someone very clever and honest to fix this thing, so start asking around.  The dealer will treat you impeccably, of course, but they'll attach a vacuum pump to your wallet.
