Auto Parts: Clutch/Starter switch, clutch pedal, chevy custom

Question
I am having starter problems with my 1984 Chevy Custom. I believe it is something faulty in the wiring. The truck is a 4 speed manual. I would like to check the cluth pedal switch, but I can't seem to find it. I can't even get a part number from any of the auto parts stores and my repair manuals don't mention it. I'm pretty sure it exits because the truck will not start without pushing in the clutch. Am I missing something?

Answer
Hi Tim,

If your vehicle has a clutch-pedal disabler, it will be mounted to a plate on the top of the clutch pedal. Sometimes this switch is nearly impossible to access and pieces of the dash may need to be removed to gain access to it. It makes sense so that users do not easily defeat safety devices.

I don't recall anything older than '92 having a clutch disabler, but if you say you have one...

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
