Auto Parts: driver shaft on a Hyundai accent 2001, hyundai accent 2001, cv axle

Question
If i get the driver shaft fixed should that stop any problems associated with the cv boot?

Answer
Hi Anna,

I'm pretty sure unless you have an AWD model that you don't have a drive shaft. Your vehicle uses TWO half-shafts called CV-Axle assemblies and they are typically replaced as a whole piece either left or right. All the CV boot does is keep in the needed grease for the CV-joint itself. If the CV boot rips and looses the grease, the joint should be replaced. If the joint is 'clicking' as you turn sharply, The CV joint is beyond repair and must be replaced.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
