Auto Parts: 1996 bronco, axle gears, spider gears

Question
I have a 1996 bronco and i need new axle gears and spider gears but i dont know if the rear end is a traction lock or not the tag number reads     3L55 88 5G24 any help will be greatly appreicated

Answer
Hi Berry,

3L55 88 5G24

3L55=
3.55 ratio/Locking Assembly
88=
8.8" ring gear
5G24=
manufactured July 24th, 1995

The code does not tell me if the assembly is equipped with ABS or not so I cannot determine exact interchange for you. There are additional codes stamped onto the axle assembly. One of the following codes should be displayed on the case:
S837B
S837F
S837J
S837M

If it isn't, send a follow-up with which code is stamped on the case and I can possibly offer you additional information about the assembly.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
