Auto Parts: 1994 S-10 Blazer, plenty of power, cranks

Read a few postings and noticed some problems with this- 1994 S-10 Blazer 4X4- Not sure if it's V6 or V8- Not sure if that matters- My girlfriend just received this car in the past week- It cut out when driving twice- I (VERY limited experience) took a look hoping for loose or corroded terminals and possibly a recharge for the battery- Battery is working and cranks with plenty of power, but doesn't turn over at all- I can't even remember the difference between the alternator & distributor symptoms, but from reading a few posts, it seems that it may be more complicated than that- Any suggestions on where to start? Thanks

You stated: "Battery is working and cranks with plenty of power, but doesn't turn over at all". If the battery is fine and cranking the engine with plenty of power, how is it NOT turning over? How about being a little more diligent with your question and provide some information that I can work with. To me, 'cranking' and 'turning over' the engine are exactly the same thing. As soon as I figure out what your issue is, I'll offer you some advice.
