Auto Parts: 07 Dodge Brake Problems, speed sensors, wheel speed

Question
I have a 07 MegaCab 4x4 dually-it has 44k and is about a year old.  I drive a lot.  Recently my brakes started locking up while driving, the pedal gets hard and the brakes apply themselves barley giving me enough time to get off the highway.  I released the pressure from the system by bleeding the line, it released the brakes and started working again.  It now does it randomly-called local dealer and they said they have no idea and not only is it out of the 36k warranty but they would charge me shop rates($85per hour) for trouble shooting.  We bled the lines and did basic troubleshooting ourselves and think it is a computer/abs problem.  Any ideas? No help so far from Dodge.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Martin,

Currently Dodge is only listing one TSB for your vehicle and it involves glass.

Your problem most definitely sounds like an ABS issue. Perhaps one of your wheel-speed sensors is going bad and is telling the pump to activate at non-specific times. I would disable the ABS and drive around for a few days or the typical amount of time it would take for the malfunction to occur. If no malfunction, the ABS assembly is probably the culprit. the pump and control module on your '07 would need to be replaced as a unit because they are married to each other. Changing either the pump or module by itself will indicate an error and the system will not function.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
