Auto Parts: Horn wont honk, horn button, hi tim

Question
1996 Toyota Tacoma, horn was not working, took it out and tried to honk the horn with jumper , it worked, what else can it be?

Answer
Hi Tim,
There is only three parts to that system, a horn button (usually in the steering wheel), a relay (mounted in the fuse/relay center) and the horn itself. You've already determined that the horn is functional. Go to a QUIET place and press the horn button, you should hear a faint ''click''. If you don't, the relay is probably bad. If you do not hear the click, find the relay and power the terminal coming FROM the horn button to see if that operates the relay, if it does, bad horn button, if not, bad relay. If none of these fixes your problem, check that the wiring is in good condition and that the horn mount is solid and passing a good ground from the frame.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information is helpful to you.
