Auto Parts: clutch servo 68 VW autostick, vacuum servo, clutch servo

Question
QUESTION: I'm having problems locating a part I need for my 68 VW, it's called by several names and maybe you can help.
PART:  clutch servo AKA vacuum servo, vacuum booster.

Thanks for your expertise.

ANSWER: Hi Diana,
I recognize the part you're looking for, but I'm not sure what it looks like. I can empathize- you're going to have a heck of a time trying to find parts for that car, especially one like that. Have you tried calling a VW dealership?
Look at this item:
http://replacement.autopartswarehouse.com/parts/autopartswarehouse/wizard.jsp?ye

Could that be the part? It sounds more like part of the timing, but I could be wrong....

That's the only thing I could find even remotely close to what we're looking for. You're next step would definately be to call a dealership.

Sorry I couldn't help more,
Christina

QUESTION: Thank you so much for the effort, it's much more assistance than I've gotten from other sources.

I don't think that's the part. The item I'm looking for looks like a can cinched with a bracket in the middle, that holds a diaphragm w/in the canister. I DO have a picture of it here's the link:

Thanks again.

Answer
Diana,
I want you to know that I'm still looking for this part. I have been going to parts websites and looking at pictures of just about every part that it MIGHT be even though the name is completely different and I haven't had any luck yet. I've been doing searches on "specialty volkswagen parts" trying to find specialty stores.
So anyway I just wanted you to know that I haven't given up. In my spare time in the morning I'm doing searches for you so hopefully we'll get lucky soon.
